Applications
Applications may be made by individuals or by companies on behalf of learners. Submitting an application does not confirm a place. Every application requires a certified ID copy, PSIRA registration and proof of payment.
Fees and payment
Full payment is required upfront before enrolment. Part-payments and instalments are not offered. Package prices are a bundled discount; each grade in a package is still a separate registration and training step.
Grade progression
PSIRA grades are completed in order (E, D, C, B, A). Each earlier grade must be completed and approved by PSIRA before the next grade can start. Buying a package does not bypass this requirement.
Training dates
Training dates are allocated by Ivy Black. Sessions are limited to 54 learners. Allocations close 1 week before a session, and reschedule requests must be made at least 7 days before the session.
Cancellations, refunds and no-shows
Cancellations with at least 14 days' notice qualify for a full refund, paid within 30 days of approval. A learner who does not attend an allocated session without cancelling forfeits the payment for that session.
Assessments and results
The pass mark is 60%. Results are marked by Ivy Black and submitted to PSIRA, and are final only once PSIRA approval is received. There is no guaranteed turnaround time. A learner who fails must re-register completely before another attempt.
Appeals
An appeal may be lodged within 10 working days of the result (weekends and South African public holidays excluded). The instructor makes the final appeal decision.
